Distributors of packaging are obliged to declare the amount of packaging they place onto the market in a so-called 'Vollständigkeitserklärung' (VE / declaration of completeness) if the amount they place onto the
market is

• at least 80 tonnes of glass or

• at least 50 tonnes of paper or

• at least 30 tonnes of light packaging.

The VE contains details about sales packaging that are itemized according to different kinds of materials. Furthermore, the companies must list the packaging that is disposed of via branch solutions as well as the packaging that ends up at commercial businesses. Moreover, details must be given about the amounts of packaging that is licensed at the dual systems. The VE is then lodged at your local Chamber of Commerce (IHK).
