Sharing existing waste management facilities.

In addition to the coordination work carried out with the local authorities, EKO-PUNKT^® also concludes contracts with local publicly and privately owned waste management businesses to share their facilities. Such agreements are a precondition for receiving a licence from the individual German states. Operators of waste management facilities are paid a fee, which is fixed by contract, for allowing EKO-PUNKT^® to use their facilities. The waste management businesses travel to the kerbside collection points and collect the used packaging. The collected material is then taken to sorting and/or processing facilities where it is then separated according to fraction and sent for recycling.
